PROJECT BRIEF
Social Scented Dreaming is a collaborative research project by the Italian Perfumery Institute and Freenspire, with contributions from the Social Dreaming International Network. It explores the connection between scents and dreams, using the Social Dreaming method to understand how fragrances influence our unconscious and creative thinking.
CONCEPT EXPLORATION
When we’re in love, we all blend in a symphony of notes and colours. We search and find, we chase and choose, mirroring our soul in someone’s eyes until we get This project blends digital engagement with real-world research, inviting participants to explore the role of olfaction in shaping dream experiences with advanced AI technology transforming dreams into a rich, multisensory fusion of fragrance and imagery. The initial findings will be presented at Esxence 2025 during the IPI conference on February 22nd. The research will continue throughout the year, engaging both online and live communities.
This initiative marks a pioneering step in understanding the sensory and emotional power of fragrance, opening new avenues for research, artistic expression, and personal exploration.
